Here is a list of the latest changes we implemented in Aviary during Sprint 38. These will be available on the site as of November 11, 2019.
New Features
CUSTOM DNS: Organizations now have the ability to remove “aviaryplatform.com” from you site URL if you have the proper Network IT support at your organization.
Ability to define DNS in the Organization Profile tab
E.g, Indiana University’s Aviary site is now found at https://oralhistory.iu.edu
CUSTOM URLs: We have added the ability to use your internal unique identifiers for your resources as elements of the URL string to access your resources in Aviary. This allows users to find your resources programmatically without having to know anything about internal Aviary identifiers.
Ability to enable custom URLs for Resources (use custom unique identifiers)
E.g., Fortunoff’s resource that has a Fortunoff unique identifier of mssa.hvt.0001 can now be found in Aviary using the URL: https://fortunoff.aviaryplatform.com/c/mssa.hvt.0001
Enhancements
CODE REFACTORING (Continued)
Improvements for better handling and storage of GPS data found in OHMS XML imports.
Continued improvements for custom fields handling.
Better resource search capabilities when adding them to a permission group.
Fixes
Fixed the following issues with OHMS XML imports:
Imports not creating a media file when both Media URL and Embed Code fields were present in the XML.
GPS fields showing up when no values were present.
Missing spaces in transcripts.
